SUMMARY:

As an Operational Support Analyst, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll and the resolution of complex payroll issues impacting Industrial Parts team members. This position is responsible for running payroll calculations, completing retroactive pay calculations, and reviewing and approving documentation required for internal and external audits. This role will also coordinate team training and provide support to the Payroll Manager.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and generate payroll through Workday.

• Audit, review, and reconcile weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly payrolls.

• Import and balance timekeeping and bonus files.

• Complete retroactive payments and audit resulting variances.

• Review supporting documentation and backup for weekly audit reports distributed to Payroll Specialists.

• Assist with the training and development of payroll team members and new hires, both virtually and in person.

• Document and maintain best practices, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), and implement new payroll procedures as needed.

• Maintain a high level of customer service through the timely resolution of escalated payroll issues.

• Research and resolve complex payroll-related matters.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll-related information.

• Support the Payroll Manager with off-cycle payments, escalations, and internal and external audits.

• Prepare manual checks as required, balance bank deposits, and reconcile ACH debits and credits.

• Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries from employees, field customers, business partners, and third-party vendors through phone, email, and the ServiceNow Case Management System.

• Research and reconcile third-party benefit provider activity with payroll withholdings, including Wellbeing benefits, Newport deferrals, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), 401(k) plans, and payroll tax-related transactions.

• Manage expatriate payroll setup, wire transfers, and related payroll inquiries.

• Record and report ACH payments, manual checks, and pay card transactions.

• Perform system testing and provide sign-off on all configuration and integration updates that impact payroll

• Complete ad hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned by payroll leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.

• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred but not required.

• 3 to 5 years of payroll processing experience required.

• Experience with Workday or a comparable payroll system preferred.

• Well-organized, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.

• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong computer proficiency.

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage pressure, and meet critical deadlines.

• Ability to work effectively in a structured team environment.

• Ability to follow established procedures and maintain compliance standards.

• Flexibility to adjust work schedules based on business and payroll processing demands.
